Following her debut as a solo artist, Chloe Bailey is in high spirits and she’s not letting anyone bring her down as she clapped back at haters saying she’s showing too much skin — let’s get into it.
This past Friday Chloe Bailey set social media ablaze with the release of her very first music video as a solo artist titled, ‘Have Mercy’.But it seems some fans were just not ready for Chloë’s solo debut. In an Instagram Live Q&A celebrating the release of her new single and music video,
Chloëwas questioned about her decision to flaunt her body and welp — she shut them down real quick. “‘Why are you showing so much skin?’Because I can. It’s my body and I’m so proud of it and I hope you’re proud of yours too.”
No follow-up questions are needed! Not that there were any needed about this topic, to begin with…I mean, are we gonna ignore the fact that Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, gave Chloëher a seal of approval and even made a cameo in her video?! Chloë went on to elaborate on the theme of
‘Have Mercy’ in an interview with MTV, where she explained that the idea behind it was to flip the narrative on its head and turn the men in the video into props.”Men can glorify *ss in their videos, I want to do it with this in a really artful, fun, beautiful way. And I think it’s so great how women can claim ownership of their bodies and not let the world do it.”
And Chloë came back for seconds as she brought all the magic from her music video onto the stage of the 2021 MTV VMAs last night. In one of the most tear-jerking moments of the night, we even got to see Chloë’s sister,
Halle, present her very first live performance of ‘Have Mercy’.And Chloë didn’t come to play as she put on a high-energy performance showing off her body-ody and jaw-dropping dance moves in a very revealing outfit…In fact, some viewers thought that she showed too much- but this time for different reasons as some fans pointed out that we may have gotten a glimpse of what appeared to be Chloë’stampon string during those booty close-ups.
But fans quickly came to her rescue after trolls tried shaming her online for basically just being a normal human who menstruates…This person pretty much summed it all tweeting, “y’all mad cause Chloe was wearing a tampon… okay she did a whole A** performance on her period but some of you b****** be crying all day and in your ex DMS cause you can’t find love.”
Clearly, Chloë is not letting ANYONE or ANYTHING stand in her way as she soars to the top of the streaming and download charts around the world and we couldn’t be happier for her! Clearly, our girl is serving performances…and we can’t wait to see what Chloe does next!
